"कारवां" a poem by Aditya Nair

Two Face (Monologue)

This monologue is from a play that I started to write a few months ago. The story was supposed to be told from the point of view of the antagonist. The idea which inspired me to build the whole narrative around the villain was that we all grew up watching movies and listening to stories that had both a hero and a villain. The hero was always this perfect figure without any flaws or vulnerabilities whereas the whole purpose of creating the villain was to write him off as a bad guy. No one ever told the story of the bad guy, no one ever wrote any songs about him nor did anyone ever try to understand his psyche. Whereas it was always the bad guy who was the most human in the stories, because he was flawed, vulnerable, weak and desperate to control his desires. Just like us. The most relatable character in those tales is not the one who gets to ride into the sunset at the end but the one who gets buried under it. The excerpt thats about to follow this prelude was supposed to be...

The Batman

Matt Reeves' take of the caped crusader has to be the most realistic one till date. From Adam West to Ben Affleck, there has not been a dark knight who's more human than the one played by Pattinson. The story is set in Batman's second year of delivering vigilante justice in Gotham. In that Reeves has managed to address almost all the questions about the dark knight's operation. He has tried to explain the unexplainable things about the superhero genre by covering every single element to the very last and minute detail. And considering that batman was just in his second year, the naivete was there. His fighting style was raw and had flaws, his base was not very advanced, he was yet to figure out that in order to maintain his cover as batman, Bruce Wayne had to keep up appearances as well. Reeves also went on to unravel Batman's gadgets. He covered everything from the batmobile to the batrang and made them look and seem very realistic instead of having som...
